The SEO website review begins by going down a checklist outlining certain aspects of page content the way search engines see the site.  The purpose in doing this is to identify anything that may be making it difficult or impossible for the search engines to access and index areas and information on the website.  Examples of what we are reviewing include whether or not the code validates, do images have alt text descriptions etc. 

It’s important to keep in mind that search engines can only read and index text,  so all images, videos, and logo graphics on a website mean nothing to the search engines in terms of information when missing accurate text descriptions.

The next step of our SEO website review process is the phase where we evaluate the website in terms of “friendliness.”  A SEO friendly website is one that meets the search needs of visitors.  There are many web design and content elements factored into the level a site’s friendliness – for example accurate page titles describing page content, is the site easy to “search” and navigate multiple pages, is there a call to action on each page, and does the site have a good internal link structure.

We also review the websites of the client’s top competitors in order to assess develop a competitive strategy for advancing on top of them in search.

With an inventory of the website, our SEO website review process continues by meeting with the client to go through and explain the current state of the website.  We explain in detail what is working, and what is not working, and we do so in a way that is easy for our clients to understand.
