Adding analytics to your website allows you to shed light on whether or not your site is generating business for you.  Without web analytics, it is next to impossible to determine why or why not your phone is ringing, or your register ka-chinging.  Adding analytics to your website allows you to measure your return on investment, and if your website is making money.
Web analytics crunching numbersWhatever your website is about, and whatever it intends to do, it needs traffic to succeed.  However, not just any traffic, it needs quality traffic that turns into business.  Adding web analytics to your site provides you with information about the quality of traffic coming to your website.

Web analytics gives you a behind-the-scenes look at how your visitor traffic engages on your website.  Traffic statistics give you valuable insight on how visitors come to your site such as organic search, or referring link sites, which pages they visit and don’t visit, and how much time they spend on your website.

Adding web analytics to your site also provides you with a list of the keywords visitors used to find your website, and where in the world visitors are coming from.  This information is incredibly useful for on-page SEO and geo targeting to attract specific visitors.

Essentially, web analytics and traffic statistics allow you to see if your website is literally working for you and generating business.  Analytics on your website sheds light on ways you can improve your site performance in order to attract more quality visitors that are likely to become customers.
